As the warm rays of sun defrost the Providence we write about today about sunsets and new horizons.  It is with full, yet heavy hearts and strong legs we share bittersweet news; we, the owners, have reached the end of our ride with Sol Chariots Pedicab Cooperative.
 

We feel so grateful for how Providence has embraced and supported Sol Chariots. In its five years operating as a business, Sol Chariots has expanded by leaps and bounds from a basic pedicab business to a multi-faceted bicycle transportation, advertising and delivery social enterprise.  In 2012, Sol Chariots was started by founders who believed that a pedicab business would be a welcome addition to Providence, allowing visitors and locals alike to explore the city with a unique 360 degree, open air view and a personable guide.
 

With the help of our supporters, Sol Chariots grew out of our training wheels to be so much more than a typical bike taxi service; it became a staple for Providence events and weddings, served as Providence’s concierge for tourists visiting Providence, and helped bring people together and connect them with the gems of our beautiful city. We are so grateful for all the friends, neighbors, fellow small businesses, organizations, and agencies we were able to share our three-wheeled adventures and services with! These experiences strengthened our passion as bike-lovers running a pedal-powered enterprise; highlighted the role of bikes in sustainable cities, and elevated the possibility of worker cooperatives in sustainable economies.
 

At this point in time, life has pulled the three co-owners of Sol Chariots Pedicab Cooperative in different directions; graduate school, new career paths, and exciting opportunities have made it difficult for us to devote the time needed to run (pedal?) a business effectively. As owners of this golden trike business, we are incredibly grateful for our 5 years of operation in this beautiful city.
