Position Title: Pedicab Manager

Sol Chariots is hiring a part-time Pedicab Manager for the 2017 pedicab season! The position runs from May 1 - September 30, with the manager working 15-20 hours per week. Compensation is a salary (paid monthly) + tips

Responsibilities include:

• Overseeing all hiring, training and orientation of pedicab drivers working for Sol Chariots

• Scheduling all pedicab driver shifts and communicating the shift schedule to drivers

• Scheduling check-in meetings with drivers, including 1-to-1 meetings with drivers experiencing challenges as well as group meetings to build community, share tips and tricks, and discuss any challenges or changes as a team

• Riding at least one 7-hour pedicab shift per week and functioning as the on-shift manager

• Managing all advertising sales, special event sales, and tour sales

 

Requirements:

• Must be comfortable riding bikes and teaching others how to ride

• Must be available to work nights and weekends

• Must live in or near Providence, RI
   

The ideal candidate:

• Has experience managing teams

• Has experience driving pedicabs and/or riding bikes in an urban setting

• Has experience with sales

• Is able to problem-solve minor mechanical issues with a bike

• Is familiar with the layout of downtown Providence and/or is excited to know all the ins and outs of the city

• Is skilled in phone, email, and in-person communication

• Is a self-motivated, self-starter who is excited about taking leadership in a small business

• Is outgoing and personable

Position Title: Providence Pedicab Driver

Hours: 6-20 hours per week

 

Sol Chariots is currently seeking new pedicab drivers. Ideal applicants are:

• Experienced bike riders and are interested in learning to drive a pedicab

• Able to problem-solve minor mechanical issues with a bike

• Outgoing and personable

• Able to communicate and make sales with potential customers

• Self-motivated and good at working independently

• Good communicators

• Able to receive feedback and constructive criticism from co-workers

• Prepared for physical labor and getting a good workout for 4-6 hour shifts

 

Job Responsibilities Include:

• Working regular shifts doing bike taxi, delivery, and special events, working 2-4 shifts per week

• Attending monthly meetings

• Opportunities for advancement as a shift leader or co-mechanic.

 

Job Candidates must:

• Have a valid driver’s license

• Know how to ride a bike

• Read the pedicab driver safety manual and complete pedicab training

• Attend monthly team meetings
